Olympians from Dessau-Roßlau - Donations for exhibition requested

Since the appeal ‘Who knows Dessau-Roßlau Olympians?’ was published in the official gazette in October 2023, a lot has happened. On the initiative of city councillors Günther Dreibrodt and Ralf Schönemann, a working group of volunteers interested in sport has come together at the city archives. Many sports enthusiasts from Dessau-Roßlau contacted the city archives with information and contacts to former Olympic athletes. Six months ago, our list comprised 10 Olympians. Thanks to the great help and intensive research by the working group, the number has now increased to 25. Our city’s Olympians are to be presented in an exhibition from the end of July 2024 in parallel with the Summer Olympics in Paris. To put it in sporting terms: The project is currently on the home stretch. There are still a few hurdles to overcome on the home straight ahead in order to achieve a high-quality result.
