Municipal archive closed to the public

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Users,

in the area of the district-free city of Dessau-Roßlau, the rate of new infections with the coronavirus SARS-Co-V2 has cumulatively exceeded the value of more than 100 per 100,000 inhabitants since 25 March 2021. This incidence is expected to continue.

The city of Dessau-Roßlau issued a legal ordinance (containment ordinance, emergency brake) on 29 March 2021, which provides for additional restrictions in paragraph 2 (restriction of private gatherings to a maximum of one person not living in the household). In the reading rooms of the municipal archives, several people from different households regularly come together as users, sometimes over a longer period of time, which entails an increased risk of infection.

To protect against the infectious disease “Covid 19”, the reading rooms of the City Archives in Heidestraße 21 and in Lange Gasse 22 will remain closed with immediate effect until further notice (reduction of the 7-day incidence to below 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants; special ordinances; test management). The Saxony-Anhalt State Archives, Dessau Department, has also closed its reading room. However, you can rely on our service as usual by post, telephone and e-mail.
